Problems in paradise

My eyes are burning!

Not from the beauty of nature, but from searching the internet for a way to lift Odin out of the water after almost 3 years with her total weight of over 13 tons to finally get rid of money in a shipyard again.

For non-sailors:
A yacht needs this "wellness stay" on land every 1-2 years.
There are always smaller or larger repairs to be done, but this stay in the dockyard is particularly important because of the antifouling coating under water, without which a ship would quickly become overgrown with algae and mussels.
So we need a reliable shipyard, but this is exactly where the problem lies.
There are hardly any marinas in this island paradise here and even fewer shipyards that can work on yachts without the owner going into cardiac arrest as the existing shipyards often only work with "rustic" cobbled together fishing boats or rusty freighters and old ferries.
However, I was given the risk of a heart attack and gasping for breath as soon as I received the first offer.
If the costs for this work here in Southeast Asia and the rest of the world including the South Seas were an average of 3500 euros per stay in the shipyard, not here! 7000 euros for the first offer from a warf here made me hold the oxygen mask in front of my face.
One would think that with a daily wage of less than 10 euros for a worker, the shipyard owner calculates the pricing a little more favorably
So after this shock, I first look for opportunities where the shipyard owner doesn't want to get rich overnight.
Well, we can't say that we're crazy about this work, but what has do be done , has to be done!

On the one hand, we can wait and see when the entry regulations in Malaysia will be relaxed.
Maybe then we'll make it there before the monsoon wind blows from the wrong direction and we have to wait another 6 months.
In the meantime, as a person with a positive attitude, I'm looking online for realistically priced local alternatives.
Ok...I know what you're thinking: "He doesn't do that all the time"!
Of course you are right! It's just too beautiful here to spend all day on the internet.
The pictures prove it again! ;)
