Why Amel?

The Amel Santorin is considered one of the safest and most perfect cruising yachts in the world. Safety, ergonomics and comfort are the outstanding features of this exceptional sloop.

Why?

Security

AMEL used their own fiberglass mats, the bulkheads were laminated and the hull and deck produced as one unit. As a result, AMEL achieved an extremely stable construction. Six independent bulkheads ensure that in the event of a collision, the ship retains its buoyancy and is therefore virtually unsinkable. The rudder is stored three times in a stable skeg and thus protected against flotsam and ground contact.

All sails and maneuvering facilities are operated electrically from the helm. As a result, nobody, especially in heavy weather, has to leave the protective cockpit to reef, or do other work. A solid metal rail ensures the whole crew.

Ergonomics

The cockpit is, like no other center cockpit yacht of this size, very deep and ergonomically shaped. It sits thereby, in strong swell, in the calmest point of the ship. The fixed windscreen and the large bimini allow comfortable sailing.

While on other yachts already the heavy weather clothing is put on, you are still sitting on an Amel in t-shirt and shorts. The Amel Santorin is designed as an owner yacht and not as a mass charter ship.

Two separate cabins with separate WC and shower, plenty of closet space (57 cupboards), large tank capacities and the thoughtful concept, make this yacht a safe and ideal cruising yacht
