Pirate raids in the recent past, adverse wind and weather conditions, strong currents,
there is much that makes the Malacca strait between Indonesia and Malaysia not exactly a dream sailing area.
Maybe this strait is also the reason that many sailors who once sailed to the north got stuck in Thailand or Langkawi.

Well, we certainly do not want that, because we are planing to explore more of Southeast Asia and so we are on our way south, with the goal of visiting the Tioman Islands on the eastern side of the Malay Peninsula.

This route along this busiest waterway in the world also has its beautiful places.
Find out on the photos of our anchorage today.
