Mixed emotions

A few days ago a message went around the world that the Philippines will reopen to international tourism from February 10th after almost 2 years.
I don't want to offend those looking for relaxation and tourists, but I see it with somewhat mixed feelings.

Look at it like this:
We had one of the most beautiful islands in the world almost to ourselves for 2 years. A luxury that not even Bill Gates can afford...or like to afford.
No matter where we went, lonely beaches, no excursion boats, no loud drunk Russian, Chinese or European tourists, but everything just for us alone.
That luxury my friends was a huge consolation for the fact that we couldn't sail any further.
Okay, you're right if you think we shouldn't whine, because of course we still have the opportunity to call at islands and bays here that are spared from tourism and where life is still going its usual quiet way...hmmmm...yes, sure That's what we do too...but it does make you a little wistful.
Well, let's look at it from a positive point of view:
Now that the Corona madness is slowly coming to an end, the world is open to us again. Good friends can visit us again and we can discover new destinations on this wonderful planet.
We and you just need a little more patience. ;)
