Oops…and it’s already February!
It seems that we have been a bit neglectful of log entries lately, but there was a reason for this.
Due to bad weather and unfavorable winds, we spent the last few weeks in a marina, the camping site for boats.
Apart from a bit of social life and BBQs, there was nothing interesting to report. Since so much boring stuff is posted on the internet anyway, like who ate what and when or who met with whom in a social setting, I thought I'd at least spare you that. ;)
December and January are the rainiest months here in the far east of Malaysia, but luckily they are now over and we have finally left the marina again and are enjoying the islands of Sabah.
Sun, white, deserted sandy beaches, crystal-clear water and a fantastic underwater coral world invite you to swim, dive and snorkel...but you have to be very, very careful, especially in the area we are in at the moment. Saltwater crocodiles feel very comfortable here in this island world and there are always "accidents" with these reptiles, which can grow up to 5 meters long, and not only dogs and goats disappear from the villages.
Nice that we were warned.:)
