Thailand is no area for sporty sailors
The winds are currently usually too weak for proper sailing over longer distances.
But that does not matter, because the west coast of Phuket offers so many anchoring possibilities and endless sandy beaches that, as soon as the wind subsides, it is easy to find a suitable anchorage at this time of the year where the wind almost always blows from the east.
Once you have escaped the hustle and bustle of the terrible Patong Beach, the further north you sail, the more beautiful, comfortable and less crowded with tourists.
Nice hotels or resorts, often far from the endless sandy beaches, are on our way and if we anchor from time to time, we become tourists themselves and use their offer of swimming pools, restaurants or bars.
We anchor for a day, or two or three, or more, just enjoying the stress-free life, knowing that we're fucking millionaires. TIME MILLIONAIRES!
