We had heard so many positive things about Cartagena in advance that the first impression when entering the dirty port was more than disappointing.
Cartagena is said to be one of the most beautiful cities in Central America... true. However, only in the rather large old town.
Beautiful Spanish colonial architecture gives us a glimpse of how the "immigrants" once lived here.
The old town is a mixture of Rothenburg ob der Tauber - Havana and Ibiza and is relatively little frequented by tourists. There is even a "Cafe del Mar".
We stroll around and enjoy the atmosphere, go on vacation first because there is still a lot of work waiting for us in the next few weeks.
