Valletta's flair

Before Valletta became the capital of Malta, the capitol of the archipelago was called Mdina.
Going on culture together with Ulli and Imke and the public bus as a means of transport, at almost 40°C, really has its own flair.
It is unbelievable how rich the Catholic Church is in this small country.
One church building is more beautiful and magnificent than the other.
Maltese are deeply rooted in Catholicism, no wonder, since in 60 AD. the shipwrecked apostle Paul (the first of all popes) landed on the island on his way to Rome.
Consequently, he is the supreme saint here.
With all the saints worshiped here, the Hindus could almost be jealous.
A wax museum in the former capital (some of which almost reminds you of Rothenburg ob der Tauber) was the highlight of the day for us.
Not because of the sometimes frighteningly realistic depiction of Maltese history, but quite simply and banally because of the ice-cold AIR CONDITIONING!
